HATCHIE & THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART SOMETIMES ALWAYS

If there's one thing that the music industry can be grateful for during the current pandemic, it's the far-flung collaborations that may never have happened otherwise. Presumably through the connective power of the internet, Brisbane-based songwriter and Heavenly signing Hatchie has teamed up with New York's The Pains of Being Pure At Heart to record a suitably dreamy rendition of shoegaze classic 'Sometimes Always' by The Jesus and Mary Chain and Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval. With washy guitar doused in equal parts of delay, reverb and overdrive, Brit-poppy drums keep the pace as Hatchie and Pains front person Kip Berman perform a heartfelt duet. Check it out here now. -Holly Mullineaux
